The world today is facing severe shortage of skilled manpower. There is no dearth of talent. The challenge is of getting talent that meets the need of the industrial world. In other words, the challenge is that of employability. India, a relatively smaller economy with much bigger workforce faces a deeper crisis, perhaps far deeper than any other nation in the world so we have to start re-skilling our  work force. A degree-driven Indian society treats education as a proxy for skill levels. This creates a strong demand-supply gap. Also, there is an urgent need for up-gradation of skills of rural educated youth.
To meet this challenge, the need was felt to provide proper skills training as per the needs of the industry and Zanders Skills Development Centre (ZSDC) was born in 2009, with the primary aim of providing World-class skill education in tune with contemporary requirements. The academic activities have been launched after creating a World-class infrastructure at its Mohali Campus.

Our motto is “FROM DEPENDENCE to INDEPENDENCE” The main objective of Zanders Skills Development Initiative is to generate social inclusiveness and provide the socially and economically weaker people a chance to be part of the mainstream economy and not be dependent on anyone.With the aim to transform the unemployed youth into a potential asset for the nation, Zanders Skills Development has collaborated with City & Guilds (UK) to provide skilled training  & enhance the employability of the rural unemployed youth and contribute towards reducing unemployment among the youth by equipping them for suitable industrial employment.Thus  making a significant contribution to the nation building by making available trained, self reliant & contributing workforce and to serve a social cause by providing & enhancing the employment opportunities to the masses.

ZSDC is currently offering Certification Courses in the following trades:

1. Certificate in Timber Vocations
2. Certificate in Trowel Vocations
3. Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
4. Certificate in Electrical Installation
5. Certificate in Motor Vehicle Systems
6. Skills Proficiency Certificate ( Basic Fabrication, Welding & Pipe Work)

To expose the students to new technologies and practical aspects associated with it, ZSDC arranges practical training programs apart from the curriculum and also arranges various technical visits to different workshops. Students are made familiar with all latest Equipments & Appliances, Systems, Care and Maintenance. At ZSDC students undergo on the job training in the different industries. Job prospects for all these skilled courses are very bright.
